Couples Counseling

Support for All Couples

Every relationship has its challenges, and no two partnerships are the same. I provide an inclusive, affirming space for couples of all identities, orientations, cultures, and relationship structures to explore their dynamics and strengthen their connection. Whether you’re navigating differences in communication, emotional needs, or life experiences, including neurodivergence, you can find a supportive space to be heard and understood.

Building Emotional Awareness and Self-Regulation

Healthy relationships rely on understanding both your own emotions and your partner’s. Together, we work on developing self-regulation skills to manage stress, navigate conflict, and respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. Strengthening emotional awareness helps partners feel calmer, more connected, and better able to handle challenges together.

A Collaborative Process

Couples counseling is a partnership. Together, we focus on building skills, fostering connection, and honoring both your shared goals and each partner’s individuality. The work is about growth, understanding, and creating a relationship that feels more fulfilling, resilient, and harmonious.

Effective Communication and Connection

Learning to communicate clearly and compassionately is at the heart of a strong partnership. I guide couples in practicing effective communication, identifying patterns that may create tension, and fostering understanding during difficult conversations. The goal is to help you and your partner express needs, listen actively, and resolve conflicts with confidence.

Evidence-Informed Approaches

My work draws from well-established frameworks including the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and psychodynamic perspectives. By combining practical tools with deeper insight and creative approaches, I help couples uncover underlying patterns, address challenges, and strengthen the emotional bond that brought you together.

The Power of Humor

Laughter can be a powerful tool in relationships. Humor helps partners connect, ease tension, and create shared joy even during stressful moments. I encourage couples to explore how lightness and playfulness can strengthen emotional bonds, deepen intimacy, and provide a healthy perspective when navigating challenges.

Private Rates and Insurance Coverage

The standard fee for couples counseling is $245 per session. For clients with Cigna EAP benefits, sessions may be covered at no cost, depending on the plan. It is recommended to check with the EAP provider to confirm coverage.

Therapy is intended to be accessible and welcoming, and any questions about payment options, sliding scale, insurance coverage, or scheduling can be addressed below to help couples get started comfortably.
